Title: exeRCISE: Oil Boom Deployment Upper Piscataqua River 
Description: On October 8th, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES) will be deploying an oil spill protection strategy in the Upper Piscataqua River in order to test the effectiveness of the strategy design. The strategy consists of three lengths of oil spill boom totaling 1,800 intended to stop spilled oil from traveling farther upstream. Additionally, the deployment will provide an opportunity for the various agencies that will be involved in a spill to work together and to share equipment and techniques. Participants in the exercise will be: NH DES, Maine Dept. of Environmental Protection (ME DEP), US Coast Guard (USCG) and the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard.
