Used Oil/Fluids Management Workshop |
| Description: |
Millions of gallons of used oil are generated in New Hampshire each year, and much of it is collected and managed at town transfer stations. Due to the potential for spills and improper burning, correct handling of used oil and other fluids is important to protecting public health and the environment. To assist transfer station operators and other responsible officials in managing these materials, DES is offering a workshop in Concord on November 29 and December 7 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Both workshops are identical so operators only need to attend one of the sessions. The training class will meet the continuing education requirement for solid waste operator certification renewal. Please register at http://des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/waste/swrtas/workshop.htm or contact Nelson Ordway, at nelson.ordway@des.nh.gov or call 271-2925, to reserve a space. Priority registration will be given to certified solid waste operators, but other interested parties may attend if space is available. Attendees are expected to arrive by 8:15 a.m. and refreshments will be served. |
