Training and certification/recertification for USEPA Method 9, used to determine the opacity of smoke emitted from stacks, will take place Oct. 30 through Nov. 1, 2012. The course will be conducted by Eastern Technical Associates. The first day is a classroom session, which will be held at the Hampton Inn at 515 South Street in Concord, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Field certification sessions are held the second and third days at Elm Brook Park, off of Route 127, in Contoocook. Field day registration begins at 8 am with a scheduled start time of 8:30 a.m. Registration for the course is done through ETA. ETA does charge a fee to become certified, and offers a discount for early registration.
