Training and certification/recertification for USEPA Method 9, used to determine the opacity of smoke emitted from stacks, will take place May 1-3. The course will be conducted by Eastern Technical Associates (ETA). The first day is a classroom session which will be held at the Hampton Inn at 515 South Street in Concord, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Field certification sessions are held the second and third days at Elm Brook Park, off of Route 127, in Contoocook. Field day registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with a scheduled start time of 8:30 a.m. Registration for the course is done through ETA, which does charge a fee to become certified, and offers a discount for early registration.
